30-mins to Winter Park, 15 to Granby Ranch. Ski, snowboard, tube, etc.
1/2 mile to Marina - boat rentals & fishing charters or walk across the road.
10-min drive to Rocky Mountain NP.
The space
Sorry, but pets are not allowed, including emotional support animals. There are pet allergies in our family, and our health takes priority. Also, NO PARTIES.
We've worked hard to make this your perfect home away from home. And always open to more suggestions!
The indoor space is roomy and the kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need during your stay (probably more than you need).
The mattresses and pillows are comfy and the sheets and bedding are designer quality.
Verizon wireless is 'full bars' - please tell us your experience with others and we will post that info here. 200MBps xFinity wireless - a rare thing in the area.
Awesome game room/kid's suite with 49" TV, Wii, dartboard, basketball hoop, bean bag game, air hockey & blue tooth speaker.
Guest access
Everything in the home and yard is yours to use during your stay! We are allowing people to leave non-perishable food and drinks so feel free to use whatever you find in the cupboards and refrigerator.
Other things to note
Traditional mountain home with many natural log accents to create a relaxing Rocky Mountain experience.
Big 1/2 acre lot in a quiet, rural location, but central to everything that the Grand Lake area and Rocky Mountain National Park have to offer! Or quickly pop down to Hot Sulfur Springs for a soak in the warm water.
We leave you with a good supply of toilet paper, 2 paper towel rolls, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, 2 small coolers, beach towels, some outdoor clothing and shoes (if needed), 2 pairs of snowshoes, and reusable shopping bags.
If you are looking for a place to party hard with your buddies, please move on to your next selection. We maintain a very nice home that is geared towards families who will respect and take care of our home as if it were theirs. We track detailed inventory and most 'party' groups have received hundreds of $ in repair/replace bills - we have zero tolerance for this, it is our private home - we aren't a corporation or a hotel.
We accommodate FREE early check-in and late checkout requests whenever possible but must be prearranged. During busy season we may not know until day of if early checkin is possible.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are unfamiliar with yards at mountain properties, you won't find manicured lawns at 8,000 feet. It is mostly wild grass. We do trim in regularly but it might be a bit longer during your stay than you see in the pictures as it does tend to grow.
Also note - if you are looking for Vail/Aspen-like chalet experiences, you probably won't find them in Grand Lake. You also won't find the associated prices! We love GL because it is still down-to-earth, casual, and centered around the outdoors and nice, unpretentious people.
