Come away to the mountains! Our location is at an elevation of 3800 feet in the southwest corner of the North Carolina's Blue Ridge Mountains. Here you are away from it all – the city, the noise, the traffic and close to the beauty of nature and the fresh mountain air!
Captiva Mountain Village is located above Lake Glenville, a pristine clear water lake nestled in the Carolina mountains. It spans 6 miles in length and has 26 miles of shoreline and 3 major waterfalls to explore. Access to the lake is through the lake lot off Quiet Water Cove. You can drive down the 1.5 miles to the lake lot parking.
Our abode will sleep six; one bedroom with Queen bed and one bunk room with one set of bunk beds, a queen sleeper sofa, and one bath with a separate vanity area. On cool nights, the wood burning stove in the living room is a delight. The French doors open out to a large deck with a mountain view; a great spot for outdoor dining. The spacious dining room seats six. The eat-in kitchen is well stocked for your cooking and baking needs. The altitude here keeps the temperature cool and we do not have A/C, which is rarely needed. Fans are available. The gas grill is just outside the kitchen. Make use of the full size washer and dryer in the laundry room. All linens are provided. Smart TV (no cable) where you can access your Netflix, Amazon, and more through WiFi; also phone line with unlimited long distance. We have DVD and VHS, and a library of movies, as well as a variety of games and puzzles.
The cabin is situated on one acre, with ample parking. There are many steps down to the cabin, which may be difficult for some. The location has easy access from the main road. There are many trails and hiking options.
Our small community offers a lake lot with picnic pavilion, and beach access. The lake offers all water sports and three waterfalls to visit. We have lake kayaks and a row boat for your use. Signal Ridge Marina on the lake rents pontoons and Tritons and provides for all boating needs.
The closest community is Cashiers, providing many restaurants and all your shopping needs. The area offers colorful wildflowers, rippling waterfalls, mountain views, hiking trails, mountain streams, and quaint shops to explore.
