2 Bedroom Cabin in Black Hawk
While conveniently located less than 3 miles from the casinos and nightlife of Black Hawk, our mountain house provides a very quiet and secluded getaway for couples, friends or families (even the furry kind). In addition, we have another property just a few minutes drive away that also sleeps 6, if you are looking to accommodate a larger group.
There is a large smart tv connected to the WIFI with a variety of accessible apps, including Amazon Prime, Disney, YouTube, Pandora, and Netflix. There is also a 2 car garage to keep your vehicles out of the elements. The kitchen is fully equipped for all your cooking/baking needs, with dining to fit 6 comfortably. The downstairs master bedroom has a queen bed and open access to a large bathroom with both a shower and a large soaking bathtub. The upstairs loft has a queen bed, and sits next to the upstairs bedroom perfect for kids or 2 adults who don't want to (or care about) sleeping in the same bed. The upstairs bedroom also has an attached bathroom with shower. All the beds have flannel sheets, fleece blankets and soft quilts to keep you warm during the winter months, and plenty of extra pillows are available. The living/dining room have large vaulted ceilings and with high windows facing the great divide and Mt Evans, as you can see from the pictures. Plus, the couches have horses on them!
In terms of amenities, there are a wide variety to choose from in short driving distance. It's a 7 minute drive down to the casinos at black hawk and central city if you are looking for a more lively evening or upscale dining experience. The entrance to golden gate state park is just a few miles away and contains great hiking options. 20 minutes will get you into Nederland, or about 25 minutes to Eldora for skiing/snowboarding. Two miles away is the rec center which for a small $5 entrance fee gives you access to a couple indoor pools great for swimming laps or playing with kids (water slide!), as well as a variety of exercise equipment. One of our frequent stops is base camp just a mile from the house where we can pick up many of those last minute food items or toiletries that we forgot (including wine, beer and/or booze.)
You must have a 4/all wheel drive vehicle and/or snow tires during the winter months. All nearby roads are plowed by the city and the driveway will be plowed when we get 4+ inches of snow but the incline in the driveway can be difficult for two wheel drive cars or those with older, non-seasonal tires.
We have taken great care to create the kind of place that offers an escape to the mountains without leaving behind the modern conveniences so many are used to and appreciate. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
